Biography:

Arathi is a sociologist with a strong interest in education and international development. Her research concerns the politics and practices of education policy, focusing on the negotiations and impacts of difference and inequality in schools, families and among young people.

Key strands of Arathi’s scholarship include: global policy sociology, feminist postcolonial theory and the politics of knowledge in international development. She is particularly interested in the contributions of ethnographic methodologies, network analyses, and cultural analyses in education development research.

Arathi has conducted research in the UK, China, India and Australia and is committed to contributing innovative sociological analyses to the field of comparative and international education.
