Yewa Holiday is a Post Doctoral Research Associate researching the Court of Appeal’s approach to the prosecution of refugees with Professors Elspeth Guild and Valsamis Mitsilegas, Queen Mary University of London (QMUL), and the Criminal Cases Review Commission (funded by the QMUL HSS Collaboration Fund). She is also a Teaching Fellow at QMUL (2018) on the LLM module Migration, Security and Human Rights and a part-time Lecturer in Criminal Justice at the University of Chester. She has taught Criminal Law, Land Law and Public Law. Yewa’s doctorate at QMUL examined the criminalisation of refugees in England and Wales in the context of article 31(1) of the 1951 Refugee Convention. She has first class LLMs in International Law (Cambridge) and International Criminal Law (Sussex). Her research interests include the criminalisation of migration, international refugee law, international human rights law and criminal law theory and migration.
